Breathe Spa is located at the corner of Granville and Pender Street in the beautiful Roger’s heritage building built more than 100 years ago along the lines of the modern French Renaissance with an exterior of polished Glasgow granite, in combination with cream-coloured terra cotta facing. This 10-storey masterpiece was opened in 1913 and was noted for its extensive use of white marble. Breathe Spa now occupies the space which was once a huge 18-chair barbershop from 1913-1974 and was recognized as the most ornate in Vancouver. The former barbershop was forgotten for 3 decades, hidden away in the basement of this classic building until Breathe Spa rediscovered the space and transformed it into Vancouver’s best Day Spa. Breathe Spa has retained the ornate architectural features from this bygone era with its plate-glass mirrors, white honey-comb marble floors and stunning 15 foot tall Corinthian marble pillars. In the early part the late 20th century, the former barbershop was a meeting place for all the “A”-listers of the day, an exchange for news, gossip and stock market tips, and an oasis of relaxation and luxury a tradition that Breathe Spa has maintained for more than 10 years winning awards for its outstanding spa services. Indeed Breathe Spa continues the tradition of providing elite services and catering to many “A”-listers including the stars of Hollywood.
